Bob's Biography

Bob Falgie: Drums, percussion, and vocals

Bob has played in a variety of bands ranging from Rock, Blues, and Jazz groups to string bands, orchestras, wedding, lounge, top forty and banquet ensembles. Bob enjoyed early success in his musical career when he joined Total Darkness, a band that opened for The Doors at the 1970 Thrill Show in Philadelphia. This group was championed by Cal Mann and Bernie Lowe (who wrote and produced Chubby Checker's hit: The Twist), and they helped members produce and record an album at Sigma Sound.

As a member of Cruz, Bob enjoyed the advantage of steady work for eleven years with a band that "played the inside" and was popular throughout the Tri State area. In addition, Bob has gigged in many top clubs and has played the South Jersey Shore bar circuit (courtesy of Jerry Blavat).

A versatile drummer, Bob has studied for many years with different teachers with different backgrounds, becoming familiar with the intricacies of a broad range of styles. His influences include Buddy Rich, Joe Morello, Keith Moon, Phil Collins, Jon Bonham, Rod Morganstein, Gene Krupa, Bill Bruford, and Ringo Starr.
